Converge is a 3 day conference organised by First Nations Media Australia who since 2001 have been the peak body for Indigenous media and communications. The 3 days consist of keynote presentations, discussion groups and media training sessions culminating on the last evening the First Nations Media Awards.

The awards recognise indigenous contribution in the media industry. This year also celebrated the launch of indigiTUBE, an online community platform for sharing video, radio, music and to help preserve language and culture for future generations.

The conference was live streamed via facebook. If you’d like to watch some of the highlights click here.

What an evening! It’s always a pleasure to be a part of this important event and last week’s CONVERGE Conference was no exception. From Dallas Woods and Alice Skye to North East Arnhem Land’s Baker Boy, it was an honour to work with such a talented mob of up and coming indigenous musicians and media professionals from around the country. Special thanks to NITV, Turner Hall and JHA for their generous support.
