Amora Hotel Jamison, Sydney

As winter descended on Sydney in 2018, the completion of significant refurbishment works at Amora Hotel Jamison was putting it on the map as a cosy destination to work and play, right in the bustling Sydney CBD.

JHA Specialist Lighting team partnered with Luchetti Krelle (one of Sydney’s premier hospitality design groups), to breathe new life into the five star facility and the result does not disappoint.

The upgrade included most front of house areas including the conference facilities, ballrooms, the restaurant, bar, and all day dining and the reception lobby. The aesthetic conceived by Luchetti Krelle is one of sophistication and it cleverly worked existing materials into the new spaces.

This project raised its fair share of challenges, one of which being the budget-related decision to maintain an existing layer of architectural lighting within most of the newly refurbished spaces. Older lighting technologies were interweaved with the new design elements by carefully balancing colour temperature and brightness.
