Electrical engineering towards FlexiSpace education
The implementation of FlexiSpace into school learning areas are the first of its kind in Australia. The benefits of adapting FlexiSpace into Queensland schools is to re-engage students that are at risk of falling behind with their learning.
FlexiSpace transforms traditional learning spaces into modern, inclusive and high quality bespoke learning environments. Consideration for interior layout, acoustics and delivery of teaching form part of the FlexiSpace ethos.
Hayball collaborated with JHA Consulting Engineers to perform the electrical engineering of the project. This included designing the power supply, lighting, communication and security systems.
JHA Consulting Engineers found this unique project thrilling with its mix of general and decorative lighting to create a ‘home’ like feel within the school. The combination of lighting allowed the spaces to be flexible in order to meet the various teaching styles carried out throughout the day.
Integrated power and data outlets into the architectural joinery and furniture made this project special. The consideration of power supply and data outlets within the different zones enables versatility for the teachers and students’ activities.
It’s positive and innovative values to learning makes FlexiSpace an interesting concept. The benefits to students, as well as passionate teachers can already be seen. We hope that FlexiSpace continues to be a success and progresses to nurture the developing nature of education.
