The 1920’s inspired ‘Mode’ restaurant is situated inside the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney conveniently located near Circular Quay.

The design by Luchetti Krelle has created a modern but timeless interior, and a pleasing blend between casual bistro and fine dining. With a range of seating options from stools at the magnificently illuminated brass and stone curved central bar, a large chef’s table, lounge seating and two private dining spaces, Mode can accommodate up to 200 guests.

The extensive Four Seasons Hotel refurbishment completely redesigned the existing restaurant area. JHA Consulting Engineers excelled in supplying the Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Fire Services for this project.

During the refurbishment works it was imperative that disturbances to the regular operations of the hotel were kept to an absolute minimum at all times, and the existing kitchen area was to remain operational throughout. This meant that all services needed to be extensively designed and fully coordinated prior to construction commencing to avoid surprises or on-site delays. One of the biggest challenges faced during construction was when a new kitchen exhaust system had to be urgently designed and installed in response to an operational incident occurring in the existing kitchen facility. A new central bar was also part of the design which required a significant amount of services relocation to fit within the constraints of the existing structures.

The final result was a stunning intimate atmospheric bar and restaurant that met all the clients’ requirements.

To stay true to the Four Seasons brand, it was important to work closely with the design and construction team to ensure that the installation provides prestige and luxury. This was possible by careful selection of finishes and co-ordination of services with the interior scheme.
