The Lachlan’s Line Precinct, located between North Ryde and Macquarie Park train stations is a master planned community which is set to become home to around 5000 new residents. The project was first announced in 2013 by the state government with $150 million dollars invested by the government for the $2.1 billion dollar project.
JHA was engaged by Robert Bird Group and UrbanGrowth NSW to deliver the design for all Ausgrid infrastructure servicing the site as well as the private council street lighting networks for the site. JHA also undertook the design for National Broadband Network infrastructure.
As part of the electrical infrastructure contestable works package, JHA designed three new high voltage electrical feeders and associated high and low voltage reticulation. JHA worked closely with UrbanGrowth NSW and Ausgrid to develop a technically sound design that took great care to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the new precinct. JHA’s design minimised future footpath and road excavation requirements by ‘pre-jointing’ HV lines within each super lot, minimising expensive council restoration costs for developers.
This project is set to be one of Sydney’s largest transit oriented developments and JHA is proud to have had the opportunity to work on such a promising new development project.
The design works for relocating a number of existing assets was also completed to make way for new roadways, with subsequent private council street lighting design being undertaken in the process.
JHA was also engaged to design the National Broadband Network infrastructure for the entire precinct. This process involved careful design of the entire pit and pipe network, to ensure that residents can take full advantage of state of the art phone and internet services.
