Westmead Redevelopment Project
– JHA Celebrates as Construction Begins
There’s nothing more gratifying than seeing thousands of hours of behind-the-scenes effort begin to manifest on a construction site.
For JHA’s electrical engineers, ICT specialists and AV designers, nowhere is this more keenly felt than on the Westmead Redevelopment Project, where the ground is newly broken and work is underway.

CLIENT | Multiplex
SERVICES | Electrical Engineering, Information & Communications Technology, Audio Visual Engineering
LOCATION | Westmead, NSW
The project, one of the highest valued building construction projects currently in NSW, comprises of a new, Central Acute Services Building (CASB), an Innovation Centre and an expansive new Civic Plaza and underground carpark. Engaged to Multiplex and working for Health Infrastructure under an ECI procurement model, JHA provided engineering design for:
- Electrical Building Services
- High voltage reticulation and chamber substations
- Information & Communication Technologies
- Audio Visual
Situated at the heart of the precinct, between the existing Adult and Children’s hospitals, the CASB will unite existing hospital functions, expand capacity and provide completely new departments.
As the hub of the hospital and new main entry point, CASB is designed with both capability and comfort in mind. The architecture and lighting design will welcome patients and visitors into calm and easily-navigable space.
The project design, requiring a high level of technical capability, was an incredible challenge, given a project timeframe of only six months from Design Brief to 80% Developed Design.
